Orchestras
Our instrumental music program offers 3 Orchestra Classes. Concert Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra.
All groups will have opportunities to perform as a full Symphony Orchestra, travel out of state, audition for Disneyland, perform for various community events and be coached by professional working musicians on a weekly basis
Concert Orchestra
Our Concert Orchestra is our intermediate group and accepts Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass players. This group is geared for 9th and 10th graders as time commitments are relatively low. We also offer mentoring opportunities for 11th and 12th graders in this class.
No audition is required to be in this class
Prerequisites are being able to play a string instrument and either take private lessons or come from a middle school music program.
Symphony Orchestra
Our Symphony Orchestra is our advanced group and accepts Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass players. This group will also take wind players if enough students are available. This group is geared for advanced level musicians (See Audition Requirements below) grade level 10th-12th
This Orchestra performance a variety of music from classical to pop as a grade level 3-4
Chamber Orchestra
Our Chamber Orchestra is another one of our advenaced groups and accepts Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass players.
This group is geared for advanced level musicians (See Audition Requirements below) grade level 10th-12th with an emphasis on performing without a conductor
This Orchestra performance a variety of music from classical to pop as a grade level 3-4.5
Audition Requirments
For advanced level ensembles.
Please note: Students will be placed into a group at the director's discretion. Many elements are taking into consideration including instrumentation, tone quality, growth perspective and skill. Students can not request a group to be in.
Auditions will take place May 8th & May 10th
3:30-5:30pm

For all Strings Instruments:
-C, A, E, and Bb (1 octave) @ 100 BPM Quarter Notes
-D (2 octave) @ 100 BPM Quarter Notes
-1 Prepared Solo Piece (1 Min)
NOTE: Solo must not come from an Ensemble Piece
-Sight reading with good tone
Students will have 30 seconds to review music before being asked to play
