2011-12 CHAMBER ORCHESTRA

Congratulations to the students qualifying for membership in the Chamber Orchestra.

Students in the orchestra participate in several ensembles throughout the Southern California area.  Members play in the Four Seasons Orchestra, La Primavera, Orange County Youth Symphony, Saddleback Strings, Irvine Valley Strings, and the CUSD Honor Orchestra.

MEMBERSHIP

There is no live audition to be in any orchestra at San Clemente HS.  Students check off proficiencies, along with a solo and other exercises.  After initial seating, members are placed in positions according to observed technique in class.

Reaching Level 3 in proficiencies does NOT guarantee placement in the chamber orchestra.  Students are selected from this list. The COMBINED scores from PROFICIENCIES and MUSICIANSHIP determines final placement in the class.

Students already have their musicianship score on their printed score page.  The score changes as improvement is noted, and students have received four printouts since January to focus their musicianship studies.
