PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY

The Instrumental Music and Pageantry Program at San Clemente HS is dedicated to the personal and musical growth of the individual student.  It is through the student's individual development that our ensembles find their strength.

Membership and participation in the Instrumental Music Program is a team experience.  A student's success is based upon his/her personal commitment to task and the willingness to work diligently to achieve shared objectives.  Individuals start with talents and strengths developed prior to membership, and through the student's personal growth, effort and dedication, he/she finds a rewarding place in an appropriate ensemble.

The program focuses first on musical and artistic skill, maturity, and musical knowledge. The student's journey is one of practice and demonstration; practice as a way to realize their potential and develop musical, movement or equipment maturity, and demonstration in the form of daily rehearsals and performances.
