Introduction
For forever, cultures have had defining music that has created waves of
enthusiasm. Beginning in 1980, the popular movie Star Wars swept America
off its feet. But not only was the movie a huge hit, the main theme song
to Star Wars, by John Williams, became a well known tune across the
nation. Like the main theme to Star Wars, Scotland has its, if it could be
called, main theme song as well. For most, they say it is their national
anthem called Scotland the Brave played by their, all famous, Celtic
bagpipes. The music of Star Wars and Scotland’s national anthem have main
differences of style and instrumentation, as it is fairly prominent, but
there is a similarity in the melody and meter.
